OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY

SERVICES OVERVIEW

Health and Safety
Management System

Development of your companies “health and safety management system,” aligned with applicable safety legislation, designed to keep you and your employees safe at work.

That’s what a robust Health & Safety Management System will do for you and your organization.

With my years of experience, I can quickly and easily move your organization from None 2 Done.

Program auditing:
Internal / external

An OHS audit is simply an annual review of your organization’s health and safety performance.

Just like you’d review your strategic plan or financial statements on an annual basis, the same applies to your safety management system.

Completion of an audit is critical when obtaining or maintaining your Certificate of Recognition (COR) or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR), often required when bidding on contracts.

As a Northern Safety Network Yukon Auditor, I am certified to complete both External (required to attain COR/SECOR) and Internal (required to maintain COR/SECOR) audits.

Workplace training:

Development and Delivery

While your organization may offer training specific to the tasks and activities that you do, you may not have the time, personnel or subject matter experts on staff to create the safety training you NEED.

That’s where I can help:

To quickly and easily build training products specific to your organizational needs.

Whether you live in the communities, work remotely or just want a course tailored to your organization - I can both develop and deliver it for you, saving both time and money!

And given I’m just a phone call away, how much easier could it be?

WCB Compliance Assistance

OHS Orders: Does your company require assistance to ensure compliance with orders written by a Safety Officer?

Safety Investigations: Did an incident occur at work that requires an in-depth examination to eliminate or mitigate future events of the same nature?

Return to Work: Did a worker get injured at work and a return to work plan is required? Do you have a return to work program?

With KSJ OHS Consulting on your side, we can help your organization through any and all types of safety events.

Our goal, like yours, is for the continued improvement of workplace safety throughout Canada’s north.

Contractor Management Program

Subcontracting work?

Are they COR/SECOR certified companies? Do they have to follow your Health and Safety Management System?

Before your organization undertakes a project requiring subcontractors, ensure all contractors on site are trained to work safely which protects them, protects your employees and ultimately protects your organization.

Ensuring EVERYONE - from employees to contractors on site work SAFELY!

Obtaining COR/SECOR/OCOP

Having a functioning Health & Safety Management System in place is one thing - everyone is required to have that, obtaining COR/SECOR/OCOP is taking safety to the next level!

COR stands for Certificate of Recognition, SECOR is designed for organizations with less than 10 employees, and OCOP is designed for sole proprietors.

Obtaining a COR/SECOR/OCOP designation allows your organization the opportunity to bid on government contracts.

I can help you through the process, ensuring the attainment of COR/SECOR/OCOP for your organization.

Here is just a high level overview of what is a Safety Management System as well as what goes into one.

While there's lots of information on how to build one, sometimes it's just seeing what each of the pieces are and how they come together that's important to know as well.

Helps organizations and in some cases, supervisors know where they stand within the system, as well as where they can affect change in processes and steps to keep their employees safe.

Additional Information

Certificate of Recognition and SECOR Program

The following is a brief overview of the COR and SECOR process that organizations need to follow in order to apply for their certificates.

It can feel like a daunting process to begin, let alone finish.

Since this is a process that I know well, let me help guide you through this as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Time is money as they say, so the quicker you can complete the process, the faster you can start bidding on contracts and tenders.
